Following Jesus as a Shepherd of People

Our journey through 1 Thessalonians has shown us that to follow Jesus means we love people as He loves people; we seek and serve others. This week we see that loving people also means that we shepherd others. We're far removed from the days when shepherding was a common occupation and the metaphor may not be as readily accessible to us as seeking and serving are. However, seeing Jesus as our Good Shepherd and how people like Paul shepherded others will greatly aid us in following Jesus by loving others as shepherds. Let us worship the Shepherd of our souls and to be built up in your faith so that you may follow Jesus in loving others.
