Jesus often describes life in surprising paradoxes: the meek will inherit the earth, the person who loses his/her life will find it, and in order to be first, we must be last. Christ's words run counter to the spirit of our age but none more so than that true glory is found by forsaking our glory and beholding Christ's glory.
